This is probably the most interesting Gay venue in the desert. Since the Palm Springs area has no bathhouse, the CCBC serves a dual purpose--first as a gay hotel, but equally as important to its clientele, as a meeting place and playroom. As a hotel--the rooms are comfortable enough, almost clean, a bit the worse for wear. As a venue for play-- it rates above all others in this locale. The pool is a bit small (considering the number of rooms), but the waterfall and "swimming hole" make up for this. The grounds, secluded trails, and other "facilities" are what bring the guys back again and again. Overall, definitely worth a visit if this is what you are looking for.

The largest clothing-optional in the region (with 49 rooms) markets itself as having a frisky, playground environment, and it truly does. RV parking ($42-$57), tent sites ($35) and day privileges are available; closed-circuit adult video in lieu of VCRs. Day or night passes (12 hours) to the property, allowing use of the pool, Jacuzzi, steamroom, the new dungeon and a "walk" (a landscaped encounter maze) cost $12 but are half price Wednesdays. Popular with bears, it has lots of regular events (see Web site). The grounds are meticulously tended and replanted seasonally. You'd almost think you were on the grounds of a convent, but those naked bodies around the pool aren't nuns!
