It's disappointing that a city with such a lively and hot gay scene doesn't have more going on in the way of bathhouse activity, but this so-so facility in the center of Philly's small but potent gay entertainment district is your best bet. The downstairs open/video area is probably the hottest spot in the club for action. Next best places are sauna and steam areas. The place is fairly clean, and on weekend nights especially, it does get fairly crowded (and with some young and built guys), but it's also dated-feeling and in poor condition overall, with showers that often don't work. It could be vastly improved with a little TLC, but the staff doesn't seem to care. Local newspapers report that the police are taking an interest in the place due to drug use. Private rooms and lockers are deeply discounted weekdays 8 a.m.-3:45 p.m., and Sundays 4-11:45 p.m. Membership (just $7 for the day) is required.
