Who would have figured that this night spot would be such a great place to relax and reduce your stress level, during the day. On Tuesday's and Thursday's Eros has a great spa program for men. You are provided with a robe and slippers to go with your massage and steam. They also offer spa packages. For those of us who turn in early, this is a great alternative.

I used to work there too. It was one of the funnest jobs - until the owner went crazy and everyone started leaving. I will say that Eros is unique - it gives you that something extra (steamroom, showers, massage, etc) but it gives you those extras without giving you much of what you've actually came for - hot guys. I think they need to market it a bit more and maybe shake it up a little in there. I haven't been there since I stopped working there, but you never really hear anyone talking about heading to Eros for a good time like you do some other places - that should tell you something.

Three of the reviews here were written by people who have never been inside the place and one by someone who works here. Geez!
I went to this place the night they opened many years ago and figured it would be an extremely popular place since there is no competition in this part of town. I visit a few times a year and it hasn't changed much. The sauna and steam room are great on a cold night and you can get a good massage for a decent price.
However, somehow this place never caught on. I wonder how they stay in business with only 20 guys or so there on a Saturday night when you would expect the place to be hopping.
The place smells terrible. The carpet on the stairs is rotted and they don't enforce the "no poppers" rule. There is no privacy and the upstairs part is usually limited to a few guys touching themselves as they watch porn. There are no private rooms. The same people who ignored you earlier will stand around and watch you having sex when you hook up with someone.
The exception is the steam room. The steam provides some privacy and the small space prevents the roaming that goes on in the rest of the place. This is where most of the action is.
When you just need to be around naked guys or want sex without having to hang out in a bar or sit through dinner with someone, Eros is there for you.

Eros - Haven't been inside yet but picked up one of my RoomMates who went one night. Its pretty much the only "adult club" or really ANY kind of club thats 18+ and not 21+. Seemed in a good enough location Market St. Across from Safeway. But age - wise I think its pretty much all old guys 45 and up make up the majority. My RM said that he wound up havin to wear Just a towel and that alotuv the guys tried to grab or manhadle him....which would be OK except that they were, again, ALL OLD. And since its a sex club good luck tryin to stop anybody.
I'm still a little curious to see it for myself, it just might be one of the few places to meet guys around Castro thats friendly to those of us 18-20. Hint: I think I heard somewhere that Thursday is geared more towards guys under 30...but that could mean the geriatric crowd comes out in droves . . . so who knows I guess.

Yeah, I've checked it out a few times... always on the weekend when I've gotten tired of the endless games at the bars. On the weekends, there's a pretty good mix of men and I've definately had some fun.
I wish that they had private rooms, but SF politics don't allow that, so I usually just try to find a quiet corner or area. I have to admit, though, I get a bit of a thrill from the voyeurs who inevitable gather whenever something interesting starts to happen.
Anyway, I haven't taken advantage of the sauna or steamroom, I usually just hang out on the second floor or the smoking patio until it's time to take a shower and clean up.
The staff is friendly and the place is a lot cleaner than many sex clubs I've been in over my life.

I'm confused about both these reviews...but anyway...I've worked at EROS for 4 years, and I can't imagine working anywhere else. I've played in other clubs, and sometimes like them, but eros is unique i SF with all that it offers....steam room, sauna, lounge, professional massage, locker rooms, towels...and all the great guys from locals to tourists...

I used to own a business adjacent to Eros, and one afternoon an ambulance pulled up and two EMTs ran in to assist a patron who apparently had suffered an attack of some sort while engaged in an activity that required he wear nothing more than a towel. As they wheeled out the gurney, on which he was sprawled nearly naked for all the passing world to see, I whispered a prayer that I'd never find myself in that embarassing a situation. The only time I was inside, I was bringing them mail that been delivered with mine in error. The lobby appeared to be cleaner and more appealing than the crowd I'd see going in and out on a daily basis. It wins three stars because it provided me with entertainment late in the work day. Those actually participating in it might award it more.
review from the OUT TRAVELER guides
Very close and convenient to the Castro, Eros is a top-notch, superbly maintained sex club with a range of rooms and fetish and fantasy sex areas, including a sling. There are no private rooms -- all sex takes place in a series of open rooms. Condoms and lube are readily available. A calendar of events caters to various fetishes, such as water sports. Seems to get busy every night, though later on weekends is peak time. Lockers and showers are downstairs. If you don't mind having an audience, you'll have a great time. You will find every possible body type, ethnicity, age, orientation and flavor here. Eros gets extra points for being across the street from the cruisey Castro Safeway supermarket. Be careful about parking restrictions on Market Street. Park on side streets and read signs concerning neighborhood parking regulations carefully. Open daily from 4 p.m. weekdays, 2 p.m. weekends. Membership $10, cover $13, day passes $18.
