WARNING: This is the only bathhouse I have ever been to that DID NOT HAVE BOWLS OF CONDOMS visible throughout their facility.

Flex ATL looks to be a pretty new facility with a somewhat spread out design. Some rooms were overly illuminated. Also, because of the unusually shaped building circulation feels odd and unnatural. Their steam room is basically in a dead-end at one edge of their building. (Though it's a nice large, well designed steam room.) Also, although they had a huge sauna (the largest I've seen), the thermostat was set FAR too cold. As is the problem with FLEX in LA, the Atlanta facility also had few dark corners where one can disappear to with a hot boy, which I consider to be part of the classic bathhouse experience.

Lastly, this is the only bathhouse I've been to where I've gotten attitude from the desk staff. Given that combination of odd layout, lack of condom distribution and staff with attitude, I can't say I'll be back at Flex next time I'm in Atlanta.

review from the OUT TRAVELER guides

Flex offers a large heated pool and fun occasional theme parties and patio cookouts. The club could use some sprucing up (some refurbishments have been made, but more are needed), but the shower-steamroom-Jacuzzi area downstairs is pretty hot. Nudity is permitted at all times. You'll find a mostly local crowd of friendly Southern guys, who can get a bit chatty. Watch out for staff members patrolling the area, and keep your sexual activity limited to your room (or the recesses of the steam area). Best times are late Saturdays and Sunday afternoons. Flex is in a sketchy part of Midtown, but it does have secured parking. Getting a cab is not easy. It's right off Interstate 85, at the corner of Spring and 4th, beneath the AirTran billboard. Membership $20/six months, $5/day, locker $16, room $26, suite $40-$60. Print a coupon off the Web site for a $5 first visit.
