I've had a lot of fun at this place. Met some hot guys who were more than happy to go to my room with me and let me pound out some frustrations on his ass.
Got myself some good TLC service from some 20 something bottoms who knew their craft. Will def go back to use some dudes in the future.

Having been here both on weeknights and weekends after the bars close NEVER have I seen it busy. Sure it's the largest, most expensive, and most heavily advertised bathhouse in LA but that seems to fail to bring in hot guys. Perhaps it's the fact this place is decorated like a TGI Friday's from the early 80s that scares the boys off. Or maybe it's because the Hollywood Spa doesn't even feel like a spa, it's too brightly lit and all the "classic bathhouse" amenities like hot tub, sauna and steam room are miserably small and tucked in a corner upstairs (and even more over illuminated than the rest of the place).
Somehow this place has a reputation for being the premiere bathhouse in LA which is undeserved and needs to be done away with.
Lastly, the Hollywood Spa does not have a private lot, there is a city lot adjacent to their building and I also believe they validate for Sunset and Vine's structure too now. (But the Hollywood Spa attendant I spoke with had very poor English skills so I'm not 100% on that.)

The Hollywood Spa is a bathhouse. Yes, I've been to a bathhouse ok? So just deal with it. And instead of providing lots of disclaimers, just know I am a good boy, so don't judge me by this.
I went to the Hollywood Spa on Christmas Eve 2003. Yes, it was certainly an interesting time to go, but the chosen ones have limited options at that time of year. So my out-of-town friends in-town for the holidays shepherded me off to Hollywood, or specifically the Hollywood Spa. The ringleader insisted it was for graduate "research" work. The check-in process was odd, yet efficient. They put all your belongings in a lock box and buzz you through. Within 5 minutes our academic friend had disappeared to conduct his research and so my other friend and I decided to tour the premises. There are 3 floors. The main floor has a work out area, some private rooms, and a little snack area. Downstairs is labyrinth of private rooms. Upstairs is more exciting. There are scary mannequin statue things that gave me quite a fright given my sobriety at the time. There are lockers, hot tub, sauna, steam, showers, more rooms, a video "lounge" and so on. There is also a DJ playing music!
Eventually, we were told we had to wear our towels and not wear street clothes inside. Okaaaaay, so my friend and I proceeded to walk hand in hand surveying all the holiday festivities. Apparently, Christmas Eve is the time to go. The place was packed! And I mean packed full of lots of hot guys. But I really didn't care about the hot guys (I mean look at me, I'm surrounded by hot naked men 24/7), the real draw here is all the freak show stuff you don't see at The Abbey! (Pvt msg me for more details on that) We also met quite a few other guys doing "research." It's all semantics to me...
So there you have it. Not everyone's cup of tea (definitely not mine), but it was an experience! So there you go 5 stars. But I bet if I were a bathhouse regular, this would be a 1 star facility, it's oddly lit, not that clean, and otherwise gross.

Hollywood Spa is very popular after the clubs close, especially on weekends when rooms are sold out and lines form to get in. Increase your popularity by getting a room before 2 a.m. Unfortunately, it also tends to draw some savory down-and-outs and drug addicts, in part because of its location in the heart of Hollywood. Overall, however, it's a great facility with lots of rooms and a helpful staff. Tuesday night is Latino night. Easy to find and park. Very clean. It even has its own DJ.
