After experiencing the Hollywood Spa and its very UN-bathhouse atmosphere, I was thrilled by Midtowne Spa and its classic bathhouse experience. Can you say indoor swimming pool, massive steamroom, dark rooms on every floor! If you want to see a real bathhouse come here.
Tuesday night is their discount (read: busy) night which is the only time I go so I'll just speak to that. Can you say swarms of hot latin boys! Seriously, you won't find many white jock boys here but the guys here rock, as does the facility.

If you're downtown, you may wish to check out the Midtowne spa, a very nice bathhouse on five floors with a redwood sauna and private sundeck with a pretty view of L.A. (Though also a rather unfortunate smell from the neighboring fish factory on occasion.) The Sunday 4 p.m. barbecues are relaxing and fun on a sunny day. Open 24 hours and busy Fridays and Saturdays. The facility gets more crowded after the clubs close, but it also draws a fair share of guys during the day who work in or near the neighborhood. Good mix of patrons, including Asians, Latinos and African-Americans, and not much attitude. Plenty of hot action. There are regular bear, J/O and strip nights. Wednesdays are half price. Otherwise it's room $26, locker $15-$17, membership $25 (not required, but it gets you a $3 discount on entry) and new customer fee $3. The Midtowne is located near Sixth Street and Central Avenue There is a secure parking area (fee: $2.20).
