Slammer Club has a very heavy leather and fetish flavor, with 6,000 square feet of play space, a large outdoor play area and an impressive construction of glory holes and ramps that serves as the focal point in the main room. There have been mixed reports on cleanliness of this facility, though we've found it clean every time we have visited. The focus is pretty heavy on leather, fetish and sleaze. There's a water-sports room (water-sports parties are held the first and third Wednesdays of each month) and several sling areas. Check out the always-popular doctor's chair with stirrups. The club provides plenty of secure parking and lockers as well as a coat and wallet check. You can usually find a crowd just about any night of the week, though Sundays 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and Wet Wednesdays can be amazing. Some say the crowds are now falling off and the energy has moved elsewhere. Open Mon-Fri from 8 p.m., Sat-Sun from 2 p.m. Membership is $16 for five months with $12 entry; out-of-towners pay $20. There are $3 discounts Sat-Sun before 3 p.m. The Slammer is on Beverly Boulevard near Vermont Avenue, just off U.S. 101 and near the Vermont/Beverly Red Line Metro station -- very close to Flex bathhouse.
